Ford's all-new F-150 Lightning EV truck is being delivered as we read. Trucks are arriving at dealers now with the first trucks going to those that put in their Lightning orders first. Ford is delivering all types of F-150 Lightning EVs including work trucks, Lariat, and other models unlike some automakers that produce "first run" or top-of-the-line models in the beginning. Ford had an unexpected (for Ford) reaction to the F-150 Lightning with the first year's worth of production sold out. Ford ended up doubling the anticipated production to more than 150,000 units. Early reaction to the F-150 Lightning has been overwhelmingly positive with terms like "game-changer" being bandied about by early testers. It didn't state when dealer orders would be delivered so don't expect to go to the showroom and buy one off of the floor. Plus production was slowed due to the chip shortage but Ford expects to be "full steam ahead" very soon.
