Lucid Motors opens Lucid Air Studio in Manhattan

Some may wonder why I made this post since most previous posts were more product-specific. This is important to show that another from-the-ground-up EV start-up has made it past the development stage. Lucid Motors Air luxury sedan has gotten excellent reviews in first drives and full test drives with a unanimous declaration that the Air is a true Tesla Model S competitor.  Some have gone so far as to say that the Model S Plaid is a direst response to the most powerful Air sedan (both cars claim more than 1,000 hp). But this is good news for everyone. This means that our EV futures are looking very bright indeed. The design (Manhattan facility below) of the Lucid Air Studio reflects their expected customer with the studio looking for all the world like a high-end clothier or interior design location. Lucid Motors expects to open twelve of these locations across the country in cities like Chicago, San Francisco, Phoenix, Long Island, Boston, San Diego, and the D.C. Metro area. It looks like Lucid Motors is expecting to remain a high-end luxury purveyor of battery-electric vehicles. To view the brief media release and a first-drive video with Lucid's CEO Rawlinson, click on "read more" below. Expect to see the Air sedan on streets soon. Watch out Tesla.

Media Release:
Now open: Our new Lucid Studio in Manhattan.

The first location in the northeastern United States is now open in the heart of the Meatpacking District.

This summer, as brick and mortar spaces reopen, New Yorkers and visitors from around the world can experience Lucid Air.

The Lucid experience

June 26 marked the grand opening of the first Lucid Studio in the Northeast, in NYC’s Meatpacking District. It’s our eighth Studio opening in the last year, giving you a unique opportunity to see Lucid’s advanced tech firsthand. It’s also the best way to feel the premium materials and learn about the next-level luxury features within Air.

Only the beginning

“Opening a Lucid Studio in New York, one of the most vibrant cities in the world, allows us to demonstrate how Lucid Air and its groundbreaking technology perfectly complement the fast pace and refined taste of the Big Apple,” said Peter Rawlinson, CEO and CTO. “It’s also the perfect time to open our first Lucid Studio in New York, as we will add significantly to a city that is returning to form in delivering the world’s greatest experiences to residents and travelers alike.”

The Manhattan Lucid Studio is the newest of 12 more expected to open throughout North America by the end of 2021. Other locations will include Chicago, San Francisco, Phoenix, Long Island, Boston, Vancouver, San Diego, and the D.C. Metro.

Lucid Studios bring forth an immersive, luxurious environment that’s a true treat for the senses. Along with the physical experience of touching an Air, those interested can “test drive” panoramic Glass Canopy views, choose various interior finishes, and more through VR.
