Tesla's "Dog Mode" gets updates
Another EV advantage...vehicles can be set (if so equipped) to maintain cabin temperature and protect vehicle occupants even when the car owner or driver leaves the vehicle, such as a quick store stop, etc. As Tesla points out, their large battery capacities allow the cabin temp to be maintained for hours if needed. As the Model 3 dash (above) shows, the screen announces that the mode is on and that the cabin temperature is being maintained (let's assume, yeah I know, that any dog rescuers will check before breaking a window). This is a very good idea that pet owners will appreciate. With their continued "over-air" updates, Tesla has further enhanced the Cabin Overheat Protection feature that was introduced several years ago. And no, gas-powered vehicles are not going to be left running (and polluting) to achieve the same result. Follow Tesla on Twitter for updates.
